Inviting collaborators
Updated
Invite someone by email to collaborate — even if they don't have a DataWasi account yet.
Send an invitation
- Open the account's settings — the ⚙ beside its name in the account menu (☰, at the top left) — then Groups and permissions, and go to Invite someone.
- Enter their email and choose which of your groups they'll join.
- Send it. They receive a link to accept.
Accepting
The link lets them register (or sign in, if they already have an account) and immediately join the group you picked — so they inherit whatever tables that group can reach. Invitation links expire and can be used only once.
Sent invitations
Every invitation you've sent is listed under Sent invitations, with where it stands:
- Pending — sent, not accepted yet. Resend emails a fresh link; Revoke makes the link stop working.
- Expired — the newest link is more than 14 days old and no longer works. Resend sends a new one.
- Accepted — they joined the group. To take their access away, remove them from the group: the invitation only records how they joined.
Access always flows through groups, so it's worth understanding sharing & permissions first.
