Changelog

Bascuade is now DataWasi

Two weeks in one issue, and a big one: Bascuade has a new name. Here's what changes, what doesn't, and everything else that shipped.

  1. Bascuade is now DataWasi

Same app, same records, a new name: DataWasi lives at datawasi.app, its site at datawasi.com, and a record's public link now starts with datawa.si. The name puts together data and wasi, house in Quechua — a house for your records.

What changes: you'll sign in once more, at datawasi.app. Each account's address is now taller@datawasi.app, and taller+gastos@datawasi.app for one of its tables. Mail to an address at bascuade.app still arrives for now, but not for long: give the new one to whoever writes to the old one, and to your forwards. A Claude connection made before needs adding again, with https://datawasi.app/mcp, and a script that uses a personal access token now calls datawasi.app, with the same token. The apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, not in the App Store yet, carry the new name too.

What keeps working: bookmarks and links to bascuade.app open the same page at datawasi.app, and record links shared as bascua.de still open their record.

  2. Numbers the way you write them

Type numbers and amounts the way you always do: in English 15,000 is fifteen thousand and 15.50 has decimals, in Spanish and Portuguese the other way round — DataWasi reads them in the language you picked. When a number has both marks, the last one is the decimal point. Amounts show the same way, a search like amount:>15,000 reads it as you wrote it, and a CSV saved by Excel in Spanish or Portuguese, with semicolons, imports with its amounts right. Editing a record with an amount saves again, too.

  3. Each record in its own currency

When a table's records come in several currencies — some orders in dollars, others in pesos — add an Options field for the currency, with the code in its options, like “Dólares (USD)”, and set the Money field's Each record's currency to it. Every record then shows its amount in its own currency, the code beside the amount changes as you pick, and line items and rollups follow it. Tables designed from documents in several currencies come set up this way.

Wherever amounts show, the code sits a little smaller beside the figure, and in a list the codes line up down the left and the figures down the right.

  4. Move or copy a table to another account

In a table's settings, Transfer table hands it to another account with everything in it — records, files, comments and history — once that account's manager accepts the offer, which reaches them by email. Or send A copy and keep yours, and Duplicate table copies it within the same account. When the name is taken there, DataWasi suggests a free one, like “Invoices 2”. A table tied to the account's other tables by a reference field can't move on its own: its settings say which fields to delete first.

  5. Your tables at a glance

An account's page is now a tile for each of its tables, with how many records it holds — and Add table last, if you run it. Every table shows an icon read off its name, in the menu and on the Tables page: an invoice for Supplier invoices, people for Customers. When the name doesn't say what the table holds, the AI picks one, a sliver of the account's AI budget. And the account's picture at the top left lists the last accounts you were in, to switch in one click.

Also new

  • A printed record leaves admin-only fields out. If you manage the table, the Admin-only fields box on its Full screen page starts unticked: tick it to put them on.
  • Backups now run every hour, so a recovery would lose an hour at most, and the off-site copy is kept in the European Union. The privacy page says where.
  • Lay it out with AI works in the background now, with a page that waits for it, so it no longer runs out of time on a big table.
  • In the search box, id:7 finds record 7.
  • A table's name shows as written everywhere it appears.
  • Your Profile is a page of tiles — Picture, Preferences, Emails and phones, Password, Connected apps — each on a page of its own; a table's settings are tiles too, and its ⚙ opens its Fields.
  • Some error messages came in English whatever your language; they're in yours again.

Say it once. It stays on record.
